Achieving ecological, environmental, and energy-efficient development is a vital aspect of SDLG’s corporate social responsibility. As a leading enterprise in the international construction machinery industry, the company places great emphasis on the research and investment in eco-friendly, energy-saving, and emission-reducing technologies. Energy efficiency has always been a key strategic focus and core competitive advantage for SDLG, positioning it as a pioneer in environmental protection and energy efficiency.
In 2012, SDLG became the first company in China's machinery industry to sign the "Carbon Reduction Pioneer" program with the World Wildlife Fund (WWF), marking a new stage of SDLG’s commitment to energy-saving social responsibility. In 2015, the company renewed its partnership with WWF, pledging to make even greater contributions to global environmental protection. In June 2016, SDLG and WWF signed a strategic cooperation agreement to jointly carry out environmental actions on a global scale. In November 2022, SDLG officially joined the "Science-Based Targets Initiative" (SBTi) and became the first approved company in the domestic construction machinery industry to join. The company made a commitment to limit global warming to 1.5℃ and achieve net-zero emissions. This move showcases SDLG's determination and confidence in actively addressing climate change and pursuing a green and sustainable development path, marking a significant step towards low-carbon and sustainable development.
Through comprehensive efforts to promote energy-saving and emission reduction projects, SDLG has become a pioneer in carbon reduction within the industry. In 2018, the company was awarded as one of the first national green factories in the industry. SDLG is actively implementing photovoltaic solar energy projects to increase the proportion of green energy. The company has completed and operated four phases of photovoltaic solar energy projects, with an annual power generation capacity of 2.2 million kilowatt-hours, resulting in a carbon reduction of 2,202 tons per year. By upgrading manufacturing processes with intelligent technologies, the overall energy consumption per unit has been reduced. The utilization of electric forklifts, electric AGVs, and other electric vehicles has replaced fossil fuel-powered logistics vehicles, significantly reducing carbon emissions in the logistics process.
SDLG integrates the concept of green and sustainable development throughout the entire value chain and has been at the forefront of energy-saving and emission-reducing technology research in the construction machinery industry since 2007. The first-generation "energy-saving LG953L wheel loader" achieved over 10% energy savings. The second-generation energy-saving product, the LG953N wheel loader, achieved a 20% energy saving. Currently, SDLG has successfully launched a series of electric wheel loaders, excavators, and other electric products, continuously iterating and upgrading them, solidifying the company's position in the electric product industry.
